The Truth
The Truth

Did you know that the truth is up for grabs? Do you know who is trying to co-opt and brand truth?
Let’s just say this isn’t the first thing he’s made an attempt at grabbing. This time with an unwanted advancement on social media platforms, with his own, called TRUTH SOCIAL.
How is TRUTH continually being contested? Is there more than one TRUTH? Can they still be held as self evident? Were they ever? (That would explain a lot) Maybe TRUTH is a Spectrum? We like that word nowadays, But so we still like TRUTH? Can we handle it?
In an attempt to clear this up for our viewers, my team and I launched a series of investigations to find out the TRUTH for you all and made a shocking discovery…. Folks, it pains me to delivery this news…
It turns out our worst fears have come true. The truth is now bullshit. Our next investigation begins as we search for a way to truly describe what once was … the … truth.
My research team has just informed me that, apparently, there are already 4 kinds of TRUTH.
Objective)truth,
Normative truth,
Subjective truth, and
Complex truth.
Wait what???? That sounds like grammar! Luckily, My dear friends at the HUMAN SYSTEMS DYNAMICS INSTITUTE helped with all the jargon. (hsdinstitute.org)
Objective truth is that which can be proved physically. Could we say the sun rises in the east or could that be contested? No, what about the east is where the sun rises? uh… lets just use their examples at h s d institute “The sun moves across the sky.” He who will not be named here would say… “there are many people who are unhappy.” Well that’s for sure…
Subjective truth is how an individual experiences something. “This is a good day because its sunny.” Kim Keown would dispute that because she forgot her sunglasses today. But that would be her subjective truth. His… He would look at the sun and not think about how he is also unhappy, but that he can get more $ and attention by saying things to make other people happy. So, a subjective truth cannot be contradicted except by oneself. This, brings me to
Normative truth, finally something normal, this is what we as a group decide on is true… oh brother, When the sun is up in the U.S., we call it day… oh well that is if you speak English, which believe it or not you don’t have to, to live here, despite groups who decided their truth is racism…. (Is that normal?) We don’t actually agree as one large group about language or really anything. This can be exploited, which brings me to
Complex truth - ( uh oh )
which takes advantage of the other 3, “the sun is up, its bright, mom is happy so let’s ask for ice cream.” OR in you know who’s mind… “There are many unhappy people in America. If I make them happy, they’ll think I’m really cool AND give me money. There is the only word for when this big ball of fire, that just burned a hole in my eyeball, is up, so let me disparage Mexicans and call it a 'day.' ”
OK, So we’re scrapping the word truth, but don’t worry. My team and I hit the books and came up with some alternative options for you all.
Verity – from Merriam Webster
https://www.merriam-webster. com/login I’m working with nouns here
1: the quality or state of being true or real (…duh)
2: something that is true especially : (a fundamental and inevitably true value such eternal verities as honor, love, and patriotism)
3: the quality or state of being truthful or honest
What about Honesty? Also, from Merriam Webster
1: the quality of being fair and truthful : the quality of being honest
What the heck, I hate those kinds of definitions…
1a: adherence to the facts : SINCERITY doubted the honesty of the witness (…sincerity,,, who’s that?)
b: fairness and straightforwardness of conduct calling for honesty in politics
(good luck with that)
2: any of a genus (Lunaria) of European herbs of the mustard family with toothed leaves and flat disk-shaped siliques (huh?)
3obsolete : CHASTITY
(Honestly? We all know that’s been out of fashion)
Lets move on to
sin·cer·i·ty From Google which are Oxford definitions
noun
- the quality of being free from pretense, deceit, or hypocrisy.
(…oK now we are talking. No way he could use that one, but there is another one)
candor
the state or quality of being frank, open, and sincere in speech or expression
freedom from bias; fairness; impartiality:
the Obsolete. kindliness.
and purity.
This is one he’ll be allergic to as will most polititions, I like it
Anyway… what do you think? Should we bring back Chastity? Please vote on your choice below or @noweknews and start using more words for truth. Let’s be honest, we are not being specific and it’s leaving us open and vulnerable. We don’t have to pick our facts or let others verify them.
It a veritable shit show out there. Wake up!
